Following acceptance by the health authorities of the risk assessment report drafted on occasion of the Danza Málaga programme, the seating capacity at the Teatro Cervantes for all the shows of this dance series has been increased to 460 persons.

“1882 Denmark. It all began like a game. Although I was against it from the beginning, I would have done anything for my beloved Gerda and that‘s what I did. No one knew what was about to happen.
That was the greatest experience of my life. I submerged myself in a world I did not know. At that moment I stopped being the man I thought I was. The sensation of plenitude cannot be explained with words. I did not know that that was the beginning of the most important event of my life. I gambled everything without worrying about the price that had to be paid. That moment would change everything forever.”
Lili Elbe, born in Denmark at the end of the 19th century, was one of the first persons to undergo sex reassignment surgery. A successful painter, she died in 1931, three months after a uterus transplant.
Marta Carrasco, director, performer, dancer, choreographer and professor of theatre from Barcelona, and her company have been acclaimed by critics for 25 years, winning prestigious awards and recognition as an international benchmark of Spanish dance. In 2005 the company received the National Dance Award of Catalonia. In 2013 it was nominated for three Max Awards for the Performing Arts (Best Dance Show, Best Choreography, Best Feminine Dance Performer), and also participated in Carlos Saura’s feature film Iberia.
