The calm life of Albin and Georges,  the couple that owns the nightclub La Cage aux Folles in Saint Tropez, is completely altered by some unexpected news: Jean Michel, Georges’ son, is going to marry the daughter of an ultraconservative member of parliament and staunch defender of the most traditional family values. The explosive encounter of two families that are so different unleashes a very funny comedy full of love and hilarious situations.
The musical, inspired by Jean Poiret’s play of the same name (1973, has won nine Tony Awards and three Drama Desk Awards, and has been staged all over the world without interruption since its premiere in 1983.
La Cage aux Folles is a tribute to individual and collective freedom. An audacious staging, surprising choreographies, exuberant costume design and a universal theme make it one of the most acclaimed musicals of all times. Each performance transforms “the cage” in a party, a celebration of the joie de vivre which we know how it starts, but never how it ends!
