La llamada is a comedy about friendship, first love, the search for identity, electro-latino music and Whitney Houston that will take you straight to heaven with original songs and a live rock band.
Since its premier in 2013, La llamada has been acknowledged with 13 Broadway World prizes- including Best Musical, Best Actress, Best Director and Best Supporting Actress, with the Silver Photogram for Best Actress, a Musical Theatre award for Best Supporting Actress, three nominations to the Actors' Union awards, the Liberty Theatre award for its directors, the Time Out award for best play and Best Theatrical Production by the readers of the El Pais newspaper. Its film version premiered in 2017 to the acclaim of critics and the public, winning two prizes at the Latin Beat Film Festival 2017, two Feroz 2018 awards and 5 nominations to the 2018 Goya awards.
María and Susana, two unruly adolescents, are at ‘La brújula’, a Christian summer camp in Segovia, where they have been campers since they were little. Both are passionate about reggaeton, electro-latin music and partying in general, which is not compatible with the camp's objectives. One night, God appears to Maria, and the girls’ lives will radically change.
