The real testimony of Manuel Díaz, survivor of the Nazi concentration camp at Mauthausen, based on memories that he recorded before dying and which his granddaughter Inma Gonzalez brings to life.
Manuel narrates his escape from Spain following Franco’s uprising and the journey that took through Europe to Mauthausen, where he was held prisoner from 1940 until the camp’s liberation on the 5th of May by the US army.
But above all, Mauthausen. La voz de mi abuelo is a tribute to life, to the endurance of human beings, to solidarity and to humour as a strategy for survival.
