Benito Perez Galdos and Emilia Pardo Bazan. The relationship between these two giants of Spanish literature was reflected, and very well detailed, in the letters they wrote each other. However, there occurred an extraordinary circumstance: the letters she wrote to Galdos are kept at the Perez Galdos House-Museum in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, but the letters he wrote to her have disappeared. Their disappearance or theft continues to give rise to multiple rumours and extraordinary hypotheses regarding their whereabouts, and are the fictional basis of this play. The objective is not to narrate the biography of these two outstanding literary personalities, but rather to invent a fictional story about their mutual admiration, love and their correspondence.
