Two itinerant comedians, mistreated by the lashing of the wind, arrive at a theatre. The wind calms down: the show must begin whatever the cost. The audience is waiting and wants to laugh. This is how the brilliant and brutal text of the award winning Spanish author Miguel Murillo begins; a text that incorporates burlesque elements from the Spanish Golden Age up to our days. The play is about two comedians who offer their comic repertoire of lauds, romances, fables and tricks in the course of a sentimental journey, at times an autopsy, of the profession of comedian and of life as a theatre of lies.
