Prokofiev based his symphony on a traditional Russian fairy tale to familiarise children with symphonic music. The characters come to life through musical instruments, and this way the youngest learn to distinguish their sounds and families: wind, string or percussion.
Some clues: an animal that swims, one that does not like water and runs through the fields. The wolf represents danger; the grandfather, experience; you could be Peter. And by the way, would you do the same thing?
