OPERA IN THE STREET
One of the main objectives of the Teatro Real is to ensure that opera becomes part of the life of the city. This year, we continue to support this initiative with the broadcast of one of the most emblematic operas in history: Nabucco by Giuseppe Verdi, in institutions and cultural and artistic centers throughout Spain on Friday July 15. A unique opportunity to experience opera from every corner of Spain, through the program Teatro Real: Close to you.

NABUCCO
It is Verdi's third opera and the one which is considered to have permanently established his reputation as a composer.
Nabucco follows the plight of the Jews as they are assaulted, conquered, and subsequently exiled from their homeland by the Babylonian King Nabucco (in English, Nebuchadnezzar). The historical events are used as background for a romantic and political plot.
