Speaker Andrea Aranda
The romantic movement followed during a large part of the 19th Century the expression of human individuality, in a constant and unavoidable yearning for freedom. Romantic transgression does not only refer to the overcoming of classical order by Romanticism, but also of the barriers between the arts. In this reciprocity, music had a main role given its strength as a catalyst and vehicle for the channeling of emotions. Romantic transgression: the revolution of total art proposes an analysis of the continual elements of romanticism and the contributions of music in the development of a sensible perspective of reality, which definitely revolutionized the interpretation of the world that surrounds us.

Andrea Aranda is an art historian and former intern of research of the University of Málaga. She finished her studies in Dresden’s Technical University, where she did research work about the modernization of design and architecture at the beginning of the 20th Century. She has given conferences about expressionistic architecture, Russian avangarde design and has published articles related with the concept of total art and artisanship. In 2019 she organizes, together with the University of Málaga an interdisciplinary cycle about the centenary of Bauhaus. Her fields of research focus on the influence of Romanticism an the work of total art in historical avangarde movements, the inner relation of the arts and the importance of applied arts and industrial design in modern uthopia.
