The brilliant Cuban saxophonist and clarinettist Paquito D´Rivera, living legend of Latin music and one of its main popularisers worldwide, is coming back to the Cervantes with a singular project in which he borrows from Falla, Albéniz, Rodrigo and Tárrega masterpieces and some of the best fados, seasoning it all with touches of Latin jazz. He says that this is a present for his fans in the Iberian Peninsula, which he deeply loves, which will materialise in a concert tour, a record and a documentary.

With 50 albums recorded, 14 Grammy awards, the NEA Jazz Master – the most important distinction granted a jazz musician in the US–, the National Medal for the Arts and the Kennedy Center “Living Jazz Legend” award, amongst the innumerable acknowledgements received over the course of his 65 year- career, the genius D’Rivera confesses that he cannot stop because he does not know how to live without his music.
