The Insostenible Big Band and Roko join forces to pay a tribute to the figure of Xavier Cugat, pioneer of the rise of Latin rhythms in the United States.  Essential protagonist of the golden days of big bands and radio in Hollywood, New York and Las Vegas in the 30’s and 40’s, the Catalan conductor made music genres such as the mambo, bolero and cha-cha-cha fashionable, merging them with swing and jazz to create a new type of dance music. His staging, full of congas and maracas, dresses with frills, colourful fruit and tropical rhythms caused sensation in New York, where he was known as “the King of Rumba”.
