The eight editions of Malaga’s Tango Festival have placed the city on the international map of tango; Malaga has had the privilege of hosting performances of the major figures of the genre, such as Susan Rinaldi’s at the First Edition of the Festival.
Tango Malaga shows the different aspects of the principal instrumental, song and dance manifestations of this fascinating form of artistic expression; the Festival’s programme conceives tango as a contemporary urban genre and its shows are performed with the maximum cultural precision possible. In this sense, tango is construed as part of the culture of the cities of our time.

[Tango in movement]
Tango en movimiento is a show conducted by the Argentinian bandoneon player, singer and composer Walter Hidalgo, who evokes the genre’s continuous evolution and different musical nuances.
The tangos include classics by Horacio Salgan, Aníbal Troilo, Carlos Gardel and Astor Piazzolla, as well as the musician’s own compositions. In addition, the singular voice and presence of singer Eve Acosta is noteworthy, together with the musical excellence of Juan Baca (double bass) and Raúl Kiokio (guitar).
Together they perform a repertoire of classical and original music and poetry, which undeniably takes us back to the essence of people’s music.
