The boundless and humble genius Pancho Varona is celebrating 40 years in the world of music, on a journey with his solo work and with some of many collaborations, including the brilliant and fruitful collaborations with Joaquín Sabina. ‘La del pirata cojo’, ‘Peces de ciudad’, ‘Y sin embargo’, ‘Contigo’, ‘Pacto entre caballeros’… are some of more than 100 songs written by Varona and Sabina. Varona has also produced most of Sabina’s records, and accompanied him in over 2000 concerts as guitarist and bass guitarist.
In the course of these four decades, Varona has also created songs for Ana Belén, Ana Torroja, Luz Casal, Miguel Ríos, Manolo Tena…; has participated in tours with Serrat, Sabina and Estopa, and has produced records of those artists and of Christina Rosenvinge, Pasión Vega, Sergio Dalma, Gabinete Caligari and Amaral.
