The Cuban Jazz Syndicate is a group led by the drummer Michael Olivera, comprising extraordinary Cuban musicians who are winners and nominees on several occasions of the Latin Grammy awards. Each one of them has his own career path, but beware: when two Cuban musicians come together the world plummets, and this time there are six of them. They propose a voyage to the sound that comes from the island of Cuba that will take us to different regions around the world.
Michael Olivera (Santa Clara, Cuba) has had a long professional career in the present day Cuban and Spanish jazz scenes as drummer, producer, composer and arranger. He has two albums as the leader of his own band, Ashé (2016) and Oasis (2018). The pianist and composer Pepe Rivero, who was trained in the field of classical music, came into the spotlight as one of the new values of the international jazz scene following his tours with Paquito D’Rivera and Celia Cruz. He stands out for his combinations of traditional Cuban rhythms with harmonies that stem from his classical heritage and ample background as a jazz musician.
