Plutón is Ernesto Aurignac’s new musical universe. Inspired by the sounds of the cosmos, in this album Aurignac blends his own music with impressionist and expressionist jazz influences which he endows with a unique instrumentation. The result is so magic and moving, he says, that it takes the audience on an interstellar acoustic voyage.
Following the success of his three albums as leader –UNO (2014), Anunnakis (2015) and Ernesto Aurignac Trío “Plays standards” vol. 1 (2016)–, and after receiving the 2016 Enderrock Award  for Best Jazz Album for MAP Mezquida-Aurignac-Prats, the saxophone player from Malaga will present his new record: a unique proposal and his last bit of madness for alto saxophone and nonet.
The project was the result of a commission by the Madrid International Festival of Sacred Art. It was premiered in a memorable concert at the Teatros del Canal and to great acclaim from audience and critics alike.
