Best Season Dance Spectacle at the 24th edition of the Teatro de Rojas Awards (2015)
Prince Sigfrid, captivated by the beauty of Princess Odile, who has been converted into a swan by the wicked sorcerer Von Rothbard, promises to save her at the risk of also falling under the spell. Only true love can overcome the curse.
Andrey Batalov’s version of the ballet, which was premiered in Madrid in 2016, offers a very careful rendering in the classical Russian tradition. Andrey Batalov’s awards include, amongst many others, the Grand Prix 1997-Moscow, Golden Medals in the Nagoya and Paris competitions (1996), First Prize and Mikhail Baryshnikov Award at Arabesk-1996. He has been the principal soloist of the St. Petersburg Ballet Mariinsky.
