Together with other titles with scores by Tchaikovsky such as Swan Lake or The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty is one of the most spectacular and representative ballets of the classical repertoire. Even though it stages the three major parties held for Princess Aurora at King Florestan’s palace, namely her baptism, 16th birthday and wedding, plus the beautiful act about Princess Aurora’s deep dream, its common thread is the eternal conflict between Good and Evil.
The great classical ballets with the music of P.I. Tchaikovsky began their triumphal journey in 1877. More than 100 years ago Diaghilev’s company won international fame for the name ‘ballets russes’. The Ballet Clásico Internaconal company offers us its versions of these major classics with magnificent international soloists.
