CANDIDATE FOR BEST DANCE SHOW, BEST CHOREOGRAPHY, BEST FEMALE PERFORMER AND BEST MUSICAL COMPOSITION FOR A DANCE SHOW AT THE XXIV MAX AWARDS (2020-21)

Toná stemmed from my trips to Malaga to see visit my father who was very ill. In his house I found references, icons, symbols I had almost completely forgotten. I remembered anecdotes and fears, and reconnected with the folklore of my childhood. I wanted to express through dance a feeling that is typical of that folklore: death as a celebration of life, a  party and an individual and collective catharsis. I have to admit that the process of creation has been a liberation. I hope it will also be the same for the audience.”  Luz Arcas
Luca Arcas, a dancer and choreographer from Malaga, founded the company La Phármaco in 2009. It has toured through different countries of Europe, Africa, America and Asia with its repertoire and educational projects. Amongst other prizes, Luz Arcas is the winner of the 2015 El Ojo Crítico Dance Award,  the 2015 Lorca Prize for Best Female Dancer, the 2009 Injuve Awards and 2009 Malaga Crea Awards, and was finalist in the 2017 Max Awards for Best Female Dancer
