This is the first time a choreographer combines immersive virtual reality and dance in a show in which each participant, transformed into an avatar capable of faithfully replicating all of its movements in real time, experiences a completely new sensorial reality. With this work Gilles Jobin questions our perception of reality and plays with the different effects of scale. The technology of Real Virtuality developed by Artanim allows virtual dancers and real spectators to move together in the same time-space.

Gilles Jobin worked for ten years as an independent dancer in Switzerland and Spain before being named co-director of the Théâtre de l’Usine in Geneva in 1993. In 1995 he began to produce his own work, for which he received great international acclaim and renown as a major independent European choreographer. In 2012 he was resident choreographer at CERN in Geneva, where he created the piece Quantum. In 2015 he was awarded the Swiss Grand Award for Dance his contribution to the development of contemporary dance in Switzerland.
The Artanim Foundation is a research centre founded in Geneva in 2011 by Caecilia Charbonnier, Clémentine Lo and Sylvain Chagué, experts in the field of motion capture. Artanim carries out research projects in orthopedics, sport medicine, 3D animation and virtual and augmented reality.
