White House, Oval Office. Run-up to a presidential election. The President is so far behind in the polls that even his own party has renounced supporting him for his re-election. Not wanting to leave office empty-handed, taking advantage of the proximity of Thanksgiving Day, he decides to blackmail the National Turkey Association on account of the profits it will obtain, it being the traditional Thanksgiving dish.

Meanwhile, the author of the presidential speeches has just got back from China, where she has gone to adopt a girl. She offers the President a speech which will allow him to reconnect with the citizens and turn around the polls. In exchange, he must marry her to her partner, another woman, before television cameras and against US law. The pressures of his advisor, the threat of a virus, the arrival of an unexpected visitor … will turn the White House into something too difficult to handle for him.

One of the most prolific and prestigious screenwriters in American cinema –The postman always rings twice, The Untouchables–, director, novelist, essay writer and a fundamental figure of US playwriting, David Mamet (Chicago, 1947) has received, among other recognitions, the Pulitzer  prize for Glenngarry Glenn Ross in 1984. His work focuses on the dark side of human beings, coexistence, appearances, ambitions, dreams…, from the crudest dehumanisation, to the criticism to the system, a gentle comedy or the best thriller.
