Set in the late 70s in Bay Ridge, a suburb of Brooklyn, Saturday Night Fever it focuses on the life of Tony Manero. On weekdays, Tony works at a paint store; on Saturday nights, he slips on his flared trousers and wide collared shirt to become the king of the dance floor at the local disco, Odyssey 2001, where he meets up with his gang, ‘The Faces'. When the lights go out, they all have to learn to grow up, facing the crude reality of a city like New York.
Saturday Night Fever, The Musical, with a stunning set design, more than 30 actors, dancers and singers on stage, live music and some of the most cutting edge choreographies in the musical genre of all times, brings together The Bee Gees’ greatest hits, veritable musical landmarks for several generations. ”Stayin’ alive”, “Night fever”, “How deep is your love”, “You should be dancing”, “If I can’t have you”, “Tragedy”, “Disco inferno” or “Jive talkin´”.
Inspired by the John Badham film that brought fame to John Travolta and the Bee Gees in 1977, since 1998, Saturday Night Fever, The Musical has not stopped touring the world over and over. At last, it comes to Malaga thanks to the collaboration of Stage Entertainment and Robert Stigwood, the producer of the original film.
Saturday Night Fever is the biggest musical box office success of all times and its soundtrack was the best selling album in history before the arrival of Michael Jackson’s Thriller.
