Rain is about the memories of a child made up of moments in time and frozen forever. Everything happens in a theatre where there are rehearsals for a circus spectacular, where reality and fiction collide. The protagonists exchange glances, revealing brief episodes of love, secret passion and traces of their closeness when engulfed by surreal images of their own story.

”This show has an almost nostalgic feel about it, not dissimilar to a strange need to return to the old family home where your roots are. At home we called this type of beauty, that sweet sadness one feels on watching the sun go down, ‘rain in your eyes’. I want Rain to be like a caress: simple, direct, sensual and full of tender hope. If I were to describe this show, I would say it is full of hope, joy and sweet longing. I dedicate it to those who love the feel of rain falling on them. Unexpected things come from the heavens: messages, signs, promises, and surprises.”  Daniele Finzi Pasca

Jugglers, acrobats, comedians, dancers, clowns, Chinese poles, handstands, swings, tightrope, balance beam, Cyr wheel, human pyramids... Since 1993, Cirque Éloize has offered a new way of combining theatre, dance and circus arts. The work of the Canadian company, one of the world’s most prestigious and spectacular circus companies, is based on virtuosity, humour, elegance and poetry. Éloize not only surprises; it excites as well. Rain is the best example of this.

The term “éloize” refers to the flashes of light seen on the horizon on the Magdalena islands in the Gulf of San Lorenzo (Quebec, Canada). Cirque Éloize has produced six shows, six flashes of light that have won over audiences in 30 countries and resulted in rave reviews, as well as a number of awards.
