JOSEF HORVATH violin
He carried out his studies in the Government Conservatory of Bratislava, Slovak Republic, his natal city, where he graduated in violin studies, and then continued in the Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in the same city. In 1998, he received a scholarship for the Meadows School of the Arts in Dallas (USA), where he obtained the Artist Certificate soloist title, and then continued in the Universität für Music und Darstelende Kunst in Vienna. He won the Slovak Republic Conservatories contest in 1994 and 1996 and received first prize in chamber music in the North London Festival and second prize in the K. Dobia National Violin Contest. He has studied with masters on par with E. Gratch, I. Bezrodny, V. Liberman, I. Handel and M. Minchev, among others. He has been a member of the Solistes Europeen Luxembourg Rochestra, Salzburg Chamber Orchestra, Dallas Chamber Orchestra and the Philharmonic and Chamber Orchestras of Slovakia. Since 2003, he has been professor of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Malaga, for which he has been assiduously playing as first violin soloist since 2006.
