At nine, he began his musical studies in Brazil and continued them in the New England Music Conservatory and New York’s Juilliard School. He is frequently invited as a soloist along with orchestras, in recitals, chamber music and music festivals. He is the soloist for the Symphonic Orchestra of Odense (Denmark) and viola professor in the Carl Nielsen Academy of Music in the very same Danish capitol. He has been invited to festivals such as the Davos (Irancy, France), Tanglewood and Aspen (USA), Pacific (Japan) and Virtuosi (Brazil) festivals.
JOSÉ DE EUSEBIO director
Madrid, 1966. Trained as a pianist and conductor in Spain, and later, in France, Austria, Hungary and the USA. He has performed on and in the world’s main stages and festivals. Awarded with a Grammy (2001), with the Cannes Classical Award (2002) and Compact CD prize finalist in the Gramophone 2001 for his recording for Decca of Merlin by Albéniz, whose presentation—also recorded on DVD by BBC-Opus Arte—he directed in the Royal Theater of Madrid. He has also presented El viaje circular and Teatro imaginario by Tomás Marco. He has conducted on the world’s most important stages and worked with soloists on the level of Plácido Domingo, Eva Marton, Carlos Álvarez and Jane Henschel. He carries out important work in recuperating past musical heritage and spreading contemporary music. He plans on recording the lyrical, orchestral work of I. Albéniz with Deutsche Grammaphon.
