PAOLO BORDONI piano
Born in Bergamo, he studied with Vera Gobbi Belcredi and Guido Agosti in Rome, and in Paris with Magda Tagliaferro. He is one of the most assiduous performers of Schubert on international stages, has performed as soloist at the most important festivals in Europe, America and Japan and been conducted by Rudolf Kempe, Lucas Foss, Daniel Oren, Carlo Zecchi, Marc Andrae, Donato Renzetti, Gianandrea Gavazzeni, Daniele Gatti, etc. He has also acted as a juror for various European competitions and prepares young pianists for careers as concert pianists in Italy, Japan and Spain. Amongst his recordings on disc, those which stand out are Mozart’s Fantasias, Chopin’s Impromptus and Variations and Schubert’s Waltzes for EMI. He has recorded works by Chopin, Grieg, Liszt, Ravel and Schubert for Divox, as well as the Konzertstuck nº 86 by Schumann with the Basel Symphony Orchestra conducted by Mario Venzago for Novalis.
