(*) World Premiere. Work commissioned by the OFM
On occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the Malaga Philharmonic Orchestra (Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga), we present the world premiere of Graal, by Malaga composer Francisco José Martín Jaime, a product of entirely abstract inspiration where all languages have a place.
Romanza andaluza and Aires gitanos are examples of how Pablo Sarasate takes on Spanish topics with a careful and refined technique and discourse, always clear and pleasant to perceive. An opportunity for the soloist to shine.
Very much influenced by Stravinsky, Manuel de Falla’s adaptation of The Three-cornered Hat in two symphonic suites makes a truly unique ballet. .
For Ravel, his Bolero, the combination of two inspirational motifs –Spain and dance- were sufficient to gain world fame. His genius lies in turning a simple motif into a paradigm of rhythm and dynamic expression.
