Relojes de arena (Hourglasses)
> duration 1.45 h.
It’s been two years now since David de María (Jerez de la Frontera, Cádiz, 1976) came out with his last album, La fuerza de su voluntad. Grandes éxitos, that sold over 50,000 copies. Now, he adds a new album to the seven released during his career, recognised with an Ondas Award for Best Song of the Year for “Precisamente ahora” (2004) and an Ondas Award for Best Album for Caminos de ida y vuelta (2006).
Relojes de arena is without a doubt a step forward for the Cadiz artist. He has shown with both his own compositions and with those of some of the best artists in Spain and Latin America that he is not only one of the best singers in Spain but one of the most inspired composers of contemporary Spanish music and an indispensable figure in current pop music. Relojes de arena sifts through emotions bathed in light, disappointments, truths about love and friendship and infused with the delicious and refreshing air of the south of Spain.
“…How much I would like to stop time, how many things I would correct…luckily it’s never too late, my clocks are made of sand.”
