Flamenco has always been part of the life of Israel Fernández (Quintanar de la Orden, Toledo, 1989). His family sung flamenco on a daily basis, and he was already gracing stages and discovering his exceptional voice when he was only eleven years old. Inspired by the greatest: Manolo Caracol, Rafael Farina, La Niña de los Peines, Antonio Mairena, La Paquera de Jerez… and, above all, by Camarón de la Isla who is his idol and guide, Israel has everything he needs to make a name for himself among the best new flamenco voices.
Naranjas sobre la nieve (2008) is his debut album. We delve into the deepest and most intimate parts of the cante with Israel, surrounded by guitars, keyboards and percussion, at the same time as enjoying the freshest and most modern fusion with melodic pop. This is an album which gives a flavour of modern flamenco, bringing Ketama and Niña Pastori to mind, in which Israel performs daring tarantas, bulerías, soleás, tangos and rumbas... It is a journey through twelve landscapes, the five senses and all the feelings imaginable. A jewel for lovers of fine flamenco and good music.
