Maria Dolores Pradera has been on tour in Spain and Latin America over the course of 2010, presenting a warm and intimate show with an acoustic format. She performs the best from her repertoire, from her most classic pieces (“Que te vaya bonito,” “Amarraditos,” “El rosario de mi madre”…) to those from her most frequent songwriters, Carlos Cano (“Maria la portuguesa”), Chabuca Granda (“La Flor de la canela”), Atahualpa Yupanqui (“Luna Tucumana”) and José Alfredo Jiminez (“El Rey”).
This has been a year of tributes to her fans, to the towns, to the cities, to the theatres….The manifestation of a lifetime of gratitude, for dozens of albums, for hundreds of songs from a performer who has achieved international fame and who spreads, with a modulated, caressing voice, as arresting as it is full of personality, song in Spanish from one side of the Atlantic to the other.
This 86- year- old woman from Madrid- methodical, perfectionist, a tireless performer who has just announced the release of a new album- is the undisputed queen of a genre which melds the popular and the literary, of a repertoire consumed by nostalgia and timelessness.
