Artistic Director NACHO DUATO
De paso – Arenal – Cobalto
> duration 1.45 h. (with intermission)
De paso
Choreography Gentian Doda
Music Joaquín Segade and collage
This is the first creation from young choreographer Gentian Doda for the CND. Doda has been a dancer in the company since 2003, and his pieces have been unanimously applauded by both critics and the international public. De paso presents unpredictable situations in an environment of anonymity and transition.
Arenal
Choreography Nacho Duato
Music María del Mar Bonet
Nacho Duato’s choreography was inspired by the songs of María del Mar Bonet. He strives to show the uninhibited joy of the Mediterranean temperament juxtaposed with life’s daily struggles.
Cobalto
Choreography Nacho Duato
Music Pedro Alcalde and Sergio Caballero
Duato addresses eroticism from a dreamlike perspective. In this production, created for ten dancers, the music is once again of primordial importance.
The Compañía Nacional de Danza was founded in 1979 under the name of the Ballet Nacional de España Clásico with Víctor Ullate as its first director. The appointment of the prestigious choreographer and dancer Nacho Duato as Artistic Director in June of 1990 represented a significant innovation in the company’s history. Duato’s choreography brings worldwide recognition and praise to the company.
