ATAVIOS. Theatrical Costume Design

Tuesday to Friday, from 10.00 to 14.00 and from 17.00 to 20.30 h.
Saturdays, from 17.00 to 20.30 h.

Atavios is an exhibition of the costumes created by 4th year students of the Fashion Design Course at the San Telmo School of Art in Malaga, consisting of 19 different artistic interpretations of costumes for the following classic works of Spanish literature: Life is a Dream by Calderón de la Barca, La Celestina [The Tragicomedy of Calisto and Melibea] by Fernando de Rojas, Fuenteovejuna by Lope de Vega, Blood Wedding by Federico Garcia Lorca and The Hive by Camilo Jose Cela.
These are faithful interpretations of the historical period in which the works take place and adaptations to other eras, including fictitious and fantastic recreations.
The exhibition also shows the sketches of the different proposals, moodboards and technical information, such as fact sheets, production and handling of fabrics, handbills reinterpreted for each piece, as well as interactive visual images and several prototypes of costumes made by the same students.
